SkilledTradesBC is committed to open, transparent, fair, and competitive procurement. To ensure taxpayers get the best value, we focus on delivering quality service and maintaining process standardization while complying with governing legislation and trade agreements including the New West Partnership Trade Agreement (NWPTA), the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), and the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).

We support business units to procure goods and services in line with our mandate, without bias or personal interest, and we encourage culturally appropriate service delivery to support Indigenous peoples’ participation.  

We advertise public competitive procurement opportunities on BC Bid and Bonfire. Our procurement team prepares bid documentation, and we base each one on a selected process and method.   

Our evaluation committees use weighted criteria to score submissions to ensure scoring methods are consistent for all submissions in a particular solicitation. 

We will send a final agreement, award letter and request for any other information to successful vendors, who must complete all requirements and return the signed letter to SkilledTradesBC within the specified time.  

If the value of the agreement is equal to or greater than $100,000, we will post the award decision on BC Bid. 

We will also provide feedback to vendors, if requested, on how we evaluate their responses and how they may improve them.
