We aim to foster a trades training system that is welcoming and inclusive of women, Indigenous peoples, youth, and underrepresented groups, by sponsoring training programs for equity-deserving groups to explore and get the support they need to succeed in the skilled trades across B.C.
Training Programs for Underrepresented Groups
We sponsor various training programs around B.C. tailored for those in underrepresented groups to explore the trades and get support. Paid training, a satisfying, hands-on career, and flexibility are just a few great reasons to consider a career in the skilled trades.
Victoria pipe trades Instructor Andrea Durdle is passionate about teaching. “There is nothing more rewarding for me than seeing my students succeed and being a mentor for women who are starting a career in the skilled trades. I think it is so important for them to see female trades instructors.”
