Postal Service Disruption
Postal Service Disruption
Some SkilledTradesBC customers may be affected by the postal service disruption.
During this period of postal service disruption, SkilledTradesBC encourages all customers to use the SkilledTradesBC Portal as a source to find all their apprenticeship and certification information online. This includes:
SkilledTradesBC IDs
Transcripts
Certificate Numbers
Work-based training hours
Exam bookings
Document replacement
Fee payments
And more.
To see the latest updates on the postal service disruption, visit the Canada Post website.
Apprenticeship Registration
Apprenticeship registration packages, including the Certificate of Apprenticeship, are being held and mailed as soon as Canada Post resumes their services.
In the meantime, apprentices and sponsors can find a confirmation of registration through their Portal accounts and emails.
Trade Certificates
Trade certificates are currently being held until Canada Post resumes their services.
In the meantime, journeypersons with certificates issued after January 28, 2009 can view their certificate numbers through their Portal account. If you hold certificates issued in B.C., you can also submit a Portal inquiry or contact Customer Service to retrieve their certification information.
Eligible tradespersons who are applying for the Apprenticeship Completion Grant (ACG) and require their certificates should submit their ACG application on or before March 31, 2025, even if they have not received supporting documents, as recommended by Service Canada. The deadline for submitting supporting documents is 12 months from the application deadline date. Visit the Service Canada website for more information.
If you require a B.C. issued tradesperson’s certificate to be verified, use the SkilledTradesBC Verify a Tradesperson’s Certification tool on our website. Alternatively, you can contact Customer Service for verification services by providing the journeyperson's full name, trade name, and certificate number.
Exam Results
Please note that the release of exam results remains unaffected for now; however, delays may be expected if the postal service disruption continues.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as they become available.
