Exams and Certification Distribution Potentially Impacted by BCGEU Job Action

Our invigilation partner, Service BC, has staff members who are currently participating in the BC Government Employees Union (BCGEU) job action. This may affect some SkilledTradesBC exams, as the strike impact varies by location and timing.  

Apprentices and Trade Qualifiers with scheduled exams in the coming two weeks will receive an email with information regarding potential disruptions to their exams and what options are available to them. Many exams are expected to run normally as planned. Any exams affected by the strike will be rescheduled, and affected students will be updated on the next steps.   

Certification printing and distribution services, handled by BC Mail Plus, may also be affected due to the strike. As a result, recently certified journeypersons may experience a delay in receiving their certificates.
