SkilledTradesBC sponsors a number of community service providers, training providers, and Indigenous communities across BC to deliver trades training and employment programs focused to meeting the needs of vulnerable and under-represented groups in trades occupations, including Women, Indigenous people, and other Equity Seeking groups through funds from the Government of Canada and British Columbia. The programs provide a range of individualized and group services and supports, hands-on trades exploration training, entry level (pre-apprenticeship) technical training, industry certification training, mentorship, job coaching and employment placement services.

Assistive Technology BC (SD 39) SkilledTradesBC AT Reading Support Program (ITA-ATRSP)

The program provides assistive technology skills building services and related resources to persons in SkilledTradesBC technical training programs who experience barriers to completing their apprenticeship course reading tasks due to a learning Disability in the area of reading, including reading comprehension challenges for English language learners.

College of New Caledonia Trades Exploration 

An exploration Program, offered in partnership with the Prince George Brain Injured Group, offers 12 weeks of training to students with acquired brain injury, allowing them to explore 3 different trade occupations, as well as gain first aid and FoodSafe certification,  as well as work experience and employment supports.

Kopar Administration Ltd Trade-Abilities 

Trades exploration program for persons with disabilities.  Working work one-on-one with an Employment Coach to explore various trades and related employment. Program provides an opportunity for hands-on exploration with employers to “taste” the trade and ensure suitability. The program focuses on employment or the potential for further education (possibly apprenticeships).
