Procurement and Contracting
Consistent with SkilledTradesBC's procurement practices, public competitive procurement opportunities for work with ITA are advertised on BC Bid and Merx.
Different procurement methods are used for meeting the needs of ITA. The common methods we use to engage the market are:
- Request for Proposal (RFP): We use RFP's to seek creative solutions from the vendors market. The basis for a supplier selection in an RFP process is normally the highest score with the best overall value to ITA.
- Request for Information (RFI): RFI's help us formally engage the supplier community to source product information, materials, or ideal solutions that will help SkilledTradesBC meet business objectives or capture supplier capabilities.
- Request for Expression of Interest (RFEI): RFEI’s are used to advertise a project, gather intelligence and test project feasibility. In some instances, we use RFEI’s to also pre-qualify suppliers.
- Request for Standing Offer (RFSO): We use RFSO’s to seek offers from suppliers able to supply goods or services at pre-arranged prices or financial models for frequently used and anticipated services and products over a defined period of time.
